Hi, I'm Mak. I'm from Singapore, now based in the SF Bay Area, where I work on AI/ML at Stripe.

The name is a play on causal inference — I'm an economist at heart. These days I spend most of my time on AI <> engineering, with the occasional detour into security.

This site is a loose collection of my thoughts and tinkerings — essays, working notes, and a handful of side projects. Most of what you'll find here sits somewhere between a working note and a finished piece: things I've thought worth turning over in public, not necessarily anything that is set in stone.
